Healthcare Job Demand – Q3

A survey of third quarter healthcare job demand, conducted by HealtheCareers Network, identified both continuing and new trends in healthcare employment. Both social and hospital operation trends are leading factors in job demand; fields with the top job growth from Q2 to Q3 of this year:

  1. Therapy: 601%
  2. Radiologic Technologist/ Medical Imaging: 346%
  3. Nursing: 196%

Other notable trends shaping the healthcare staffing:

  • Growing collection of patient data will lead Health IT to focus on predictive analytics
  • 79% of RN’s consider the quality of a hospitals EHR system when applying for a job.
  • Healthcare recruiting has increased 60% quarter-over-quarter, and 65% year-over-year.

According to the summary, 3,000 employers posted 74,859 jobs in Q3 of 2014 alone. These numbers indicate both rapid growth as well as fields that are under staffed. Each of these areas will be expanded in coming posts.  For the most up-to-date report and trends, click here.
